Low self esteem results from a poor self image. Low self esteem can happen when you do not or cannot fully recognise your own value as a person. Low self esteem feeds your negative thinking and makes you believe negative comments others make and means poor confidence and that also causes negative thoughts which means that you are likely to give up easily rather than face challenges.

Low self esteem is a feeling which is experienced by most people at some time. Low self esteem can feel like not being ‘good enough’ in a situation, particularly if faced by rejection, judgement or criticism from others.

Causes of low self esteem

A lack of choices leads to low self esteem. The feeling of low self esteem can last for different lengths of time in different people. The signs of low self esteem are different in different people. A person with low self esteem is active in interpreting reality in ways which lead to feelings of low self-worth. Most people experience low self esteem at some point in their life.

Early years are considered particularly important in establishing our self-esteem and our family is a strong force in the development of our individual self-esteem. Also, the person whose self esteem is fed by respect can have very low self esteem when no one respects them for information and advice. I think the most common causes of low self esteem is the way people treat you.

Signs of low self esteem

Low self esteem is quite common in today’s society and those who accept a limited sense of self worth may be more prone to drug or alcohol abuse as they struggle to find their worth in the world. Low self esteem was often scorned as being a fault and not a problem. Low self esteem hinders a person’s ability to communicate his or her feelings to those who would care about them. Low self esteem can act as shackles or chains that bind a person to the ground and keep them from doing what they always want to do.

Overcoming low self esteem

Overcoming low self esteem can be a pretty hard task. We all know that low self esteem can have so many negative effects on our lives. We all know that low self esteem can destroy our chance at having a happy and fulfilled life. We also know that low self esteem can ruin our futures, if not the futures of our children.

What do people need in overcoming low self esteem. Overcoming low self esteem can be very hard, if not impossible, when you have to do it on your own. You see, low self esteem comes from other people. Well, the primary causes of low self esteem are the way other people treat you and your accomplishments. Having low self esteem comes from being criticized too much, being abandoned, and being abused.

You see, since the problem come from other people, overcoming low self esteem should also be supported by other people. Help can come in the form of a friend, willing to lend a shoulder to support the recovery of the person with low self esteem. In overcoming low self esteem, you should support a person just enough to help them get up, and do not let them depend on you for the actual.

Different institutes and psychologists today specialize in helping people in their quest to overcome low self esteem. Overcoming low self esteem can actually be a very smooth process if you get help from a professional.
