The approach to addressing your own personal self esteem belief is to understand exactly what is occurring in your life. By taking into account all aspects of your life you can then manage and build your own self-esteem.
Lets take the example that you feel you have low self esteem. You look at your life and find that you are not quite contented as you should be. Perhaps a little overweight, stressed, having relationship problems, financial hardship, unemployment or arguments with your friends.
With everything that goes on in your life you will find that sooner or later you will be questioning your own self-worth, how you see and feel about yourself. If your assessment is less than flattering then it can be said you suffer low self esteem.
So how do we address building back up your damaged self esteem? The first step is to sit quietly taking a pen and note pad. Collect your thoughts and write down exactly what you feel is troubling you in your life.
Such as Number 1 - I am overweight, Number 2- My hair needs a cut, Number 3 - I am always feeling angry, etc. Keep going through until you have built up a list. When you read your list I bet you will be surprised as to the responses you have made.
The list will become known from now on as “My List of Responsibility”. That’s right, you are taking ownership of that list and you are saying to yourself that what is written on the list is all of your own doing.
No one can say that you have not taken ownership of your own problems and suffer from an acute case of being in denial.
Now with your list you will take each item and write it on the left side of the page. On the right side of the page you will turn that item into a positive. Such as “I am overweight” to “I am going to lose weight”. Or, “I am angry all the time” to “I can control my anger”.
You see, by addressing each issue and turning it into a positive that issue will become less in your life. By working through your list and changing your titles to a positive you are stepping in the right direction. You are fixing up those areas in your life you were not contented with.
As each issue is remedied then you will surely be on the path of building your self esteem by improving your self worth that will lead to having a stronger understanding of your self confidence.
